Business Licenses
The Turlock Municipal Code section 3-1 requires all businesses operating in the city of Turlock to have a business license. In some cases the City may require a regulatory permit and/or evidence of a State or Federal license. Prior to issuing a business license, certain business types will require the business license application and/or business location to be reviewed by the Development Services, Fire, Health, and/or Police Departments.The Finance Division is responsible for the licensing of all businesses in Turlock, the collection of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) for hotels, and other miscellaneous permits and fees. This division serves customers and residents over the counter, by telephone and email.
Apply for a Business License
You may apply for a business license in person or by mail (certain restrictions apply). All business license applications must have original signatures. Copies, emails, or faxed applications will not be accepted.New Business Licenses
Renewals
Except as otherwise specifically provided, all business license renewals are sent out semi-annually. If you do not receive a bill, it is the business owner's responsibility to submit the semi-annual renewal fees. If renewal fees are not received on time, or if not paid, the business will not receive a license and/or it may be subject to penalties.Renew Business Licenses
