Saturday, June 3, 2023PRESS RELEASE: 17-Year-Old Dies From Stabbing
Turlock, CA – On June 2, 2023, the Turlock Police Department received a 9-1-1 call at 10:46 p.m. advising of a stabbing that had just occurred in the 2000 Block of N. Daubenberger Rd. Upon arrival, officers located the victim on the sidewalk and immediately began to administer First Aid and CPR until Turlock Fire Department and AMR personnel arrived on scene.The victim, a 17-year old from the Turlock area, was transported to a local area hospital where medical staff continued to provide medical care to the victim in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, the injuries suffered were too severe and the victim died as a result of the injuries at about 11:40 p.m.
Turlock Police Department Detectives were called out to conduct further investigation. Through their preliminary interviews with witnesses who remained on scene, they learned that there was a house party nearby that the victim, and several other young people had attended. As the victim was leaving the party, he was confronted by a group of males and a physical fight took place. During the fight, the victim was stabbed at least one time before the group of males fled the area. Friends of the victim called 9- 1-1 and advised of the stabbing that had just occurred.
As Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation, there is very limited suspect information available. Witnesses describe the suspects as males, in their teens to early twenties, and White or Hispanic.
