Press Release
Tuesday, March 30, 2021FATAL SOLO VEHICLE COLLISION
On Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 12:20 am, Turlock Police officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of W. Monte Vista Avenue for the report of an injury accident of a solo vehicle that had collided into a fire hydrant and an irrigation box.
Upon officer’s arrival, three occupants of the vehicle were located, including the backseat passenger who was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Turlock Fire Department. Life saving measures were performed on the driver, 19 year old William Shawn Pizarro, who was transported to a local area hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The additional two passengers, a 20 year old male with life threatening injuries and an 18 year old male with non-life threatening injuries, were both transported to local area hospitals for medical care.
This investigation has determined that speed was a factor in the collision, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
